Falls, Ontario)

I photographed this hydroelectric canal where it runs under Lundy’s Lane in
Niagara Falls, Ontario. Formally known as the Queenston-Chippawa Power
Canal, it supplies water to the Sir Adam Beck #1 Power Station and was built
between 1917 and 1921. It’s quite an impressive sight, although this
photograph focuses on only part of it (looking south). I thought that the
canal would be a good subject for a vertical image, but ended up preferring
a horizontal one that emphasizes the lush cover of trees on either side of
