Gallery 1: 1. Junk Pile (December 2006 in Toronto)
12x18 inches. Canon Rebel XT
with Canon 35 mm lens; 1/250 second; f/11; ISO 200.
This pile of metal was located at a site on Wicksteed Avenue in Toronto,
where they were tearing down an industrial building. Later, when I returned
to the site, I met a man who had worked in the building for many years, and
learned that it had been a corn mill. He said that the plant was managed
from the U.S. and the company decided to change direction and close its
Canadian operation, even though the building had recently been upgraded.
I used Photoshop to remove a group of tree branches that appeared on the top
right side of the image. As a reminder to myself, I left one lonely twig.

The junk pile was located very close to site where I shot Gallery 1: 23. Junk Yard Garage.
