Gallery 1: 4. Winged Stone Garden Frogs (May 2007 in Toronto)
12x18 inches. Canon Rebel XT with Canon 35 mm lens; 1/125 second; f/8; ISO 200.
I photographed these evil-looking lawn ornaments at a garden centre
temporarily set up in the parking lot of the local grocery superstore. The
frogs were on the bottom of a shelf, in the shade. I like the strong colours of the frogs, their fanciful shapes, and the fact that I managed to
successfully balance two centres of interest in the photograph (with the
eyes of the separate frogs on both the right and left of the image). I
still don’t understand why they put wings on the frogs.
